Q: Can you tell our readers about yourself and describe what you do?

My name is Jamie-Lee, and I’m a Sydney-based content creator and digital marketeer. I work freelance on digital strategy and campaigns for brands, and share daily styling advice around how to maximise your wardrobe and curate your personal style

Q:When did you start creating content online? What motivates you to do what you do?

When I was 13 years old; more than two decades ago now! At the time, it was focused on other interests, but around the age of 18 shifted towards my love of fashion. But I’ve always had a passion to create, and see the kernel of an idea turned into a reality. What has motivated me over the years has been that sense of belonging to a community of like-minded people, and there’s a bit of magic in being able to connect with, and make friends all over the world, many of which I’ve gone on to meet in person!

Q: Your work naturally touches a lot of women (especially those who are looking for style inspiration and advice!). How do you view your influence on them?

A lot of the emails and messages that I receive from other women tend to be seeking advice. Sometimes it’s around styling a specific item, building a curated closet, asking for a review of something that I’ve shared, or requesting brand recommendation. Which in itself is an honor as those questions are rooted in trust, and it’s always the best feeling to receive a message from someone saying that they made a purchase off of my recommendation and love it as much as I do. So I’d say it’s something that I consider to be a real privilege.

Q: Tell us about a woman who has inspired you.

My late mother, and my yiayia (who just recently turned 90!)

Q: What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned from her/them?

The value and importance of hard work, to build something from nothing. Appreciation and gratitude for the comforts we have in life that often feel like second nature - my yiayia’s stories of living in a small village in Northern Greece during WWII and the Greek Civil War really make this one hit home.

From a style perspective, my yiayia was a seamstress, and a lot of my youth was spent mucking around in her sewing room while she sewed up garments for me. And it taught me to appreciate how clothes are made, and understand nuances around quality and fabric composition. And my mother was an innately stylish woman, who passed on many lessons to me around building outfits, and classic wardrobe staples which I’ve held on to even into my thirties now.
